The Vanyar Fleet consists of $largenumber ships, divided by classes:
Greatships are the largest and most powerful ships of the Vanyarin Fleet. Each is ruled by a High Commander and is assigned a sector in the surrounding Void for their operations.
Traditionally, all Greatships are given names in Quenya. Greatships bear the names of constellations, and Defenders bear the names of famous heroes in the history of Arda.
*The first Soronúmë was destroyed during the Battle of Mernach in II-1716. Afterwards, a new Greatship was built to replace it and was given the old name.
The Valacirca is the first and greatest Vanyarin ship ever built, named after the constellation in the North that is translated as "the Sickle of the Valar."
Defenders are the second largest ships in the fleet. They are more numerous and are more often seen in combat.
Deceivers are medium-sized ships with a set of abilities very different from other ships in the fleet. They provide additional shielding and "combat tricks" during engagements, and often most scientific research takes place in them.
Outrunners are medium-sized ships built for speed, maneuvering and stealth. They are modular: They can be mounted with weaponry to deal quick and hard blows to opposing forces; or they can be fitted as transports to deliver mission-critical cargo and personnel or to carry survivors away to safety.
Explorers are small, light ships dotting the surrounding Void. They carry an extensive array of detection and analysis systems, and perform most of the scouting done by Vanyarin forces.
Eagles are the standard fighter craft of the Vanyar Fleet. Quick and light, they can outmaneuver other ships of a similar size helped by the skill of their pilots. Their firepower is high enough to tear through swarms of enemy fighters. However, since they are mass-produced, their armour and shielding is light.
